Biography
Paulette started her career at Optum Health in May 2014 as an Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) Case Manager. This was a new program and Paulette has been very involved in developing the tools and processes for the program. She was responsible for starting the IDT program at the North Tenaya campus with just a social worker and physician. Once staff was hired and trained, Paulette moved to the South Eastern Campus where she conducted training of the new case managers. She was active in a committee to revise the assessment and care plan tools that were currently in use. Paulette transferred to the Continuity of Care Department with United Healthcare as an Inpatient Case Manager in early 2016. In her role as a Case Manager, she works with the Northern Nevada inpatient population for discharge planning. She also works closely with the hospitals in Reno for Utilization Management. She has been given many opportunities in the Continuity of Care Department to cross-train to different departments, train new employees, and work on a pilot project where she was responsible for developing all the training materials and conducting the teaching. Her volunteerism and community involvement includes her financial involvement in the Wounded Warrior Project as well as Project 150, which helps homeless high school students with meals and clothes as well as resources so they can graduate high school. Paulette volunteers monthly with Helping Hands of Southern Nevada by delivering pantry food to homebound seniors. Paulette is dedicated to a career in nursing education and to improve the overall nursing climate. She hopes to continue to grow in a position that allows for mentoring, teaching and innovation in nursing.
